“EMBEDDED JOURNALISM (Media’s Projections of Sikhs as Demons)” exposes the newspapers and public media -AIR and Doordarshan- of their biased news coverage that painted the Sikhs as ‘demon’ and ‘anti-national’ deserving to be suppressed and even eliminated during the 1980s. While claiming to be ‘free and independent’ the mainstream media toed the Indian Establishment line and helped the power of the day to prepare ground and public opinion for staging attack on Golden Temple , enacting November 84 pogrom of the Sikhs and a decade long bloodshed in Punjab.
