]]> ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਆ ਜਾਂ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਕਿ ਬਾਬਾ ਬਘੇਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਛੱਡੀ? ਉਹ 11 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਫਤਿਹ ਦਿਵਸ ਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਭੱਕਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਦੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ “ਸਮਰੂ ਕੀ ਬੇਗਮ” ਲਾਜਮੀਂ ਪੜ ਲੈਣ । ਸਰਦਾਰ ਭੱਕਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਜੇ ਸਮਰੂ ਬੇਗਮ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਨਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਤਾਂ 11 ਮਾਰਚ 1783 ਨੂੰ ਰੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਸਿੱਖ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਥੇਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਮਹਿੰਜੋਦੜੋ ਤੇ ਹੜੱਪਾ ਦੇ ਖੰਡਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ । ਖੰਡਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਛੱਡੋ , ਇੱਥੇ ਖੁਦਾਈ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਬੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਲੱਭਣਾ । ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਚ ਮਾਸਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਕਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਜਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਏਥੇ ਜੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ ।
ਸਮਰੂ ਬੇਗਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਸੀ ? ਸ: ਭੱਕਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੂ ਬੇਗਮ ਉਪਰ ਇਹ ਖੋਜ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਈ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਹੈ । ਲਾਜਮੀਂ ਖ੍ਰੀਦ ਕੇ ਪੜਿਉ ।
