]]> ਇਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਯਥਾਰਥਕ ਚਿਤਰਨ ਹੈ । ਵਿਅੰਗ, ਲੋਕ-ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ, ਗੀਤ, ਬੋਲਿਆਂ, ਲੋਕ-ਕਥਾਵਾਂ, ਰੀਤੀ-ਰਿਵਾਜ, ਤਿੱਥ-ਤਿਉਹਾਰ, ਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿੰਜਣ, ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਮਰਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਸਮਾਂ, ਗਿੱਧਾ – ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਛਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈਕੇ ਕੁੜਮਾਈ, ਵਿਦਾਈ ਤੱਕ – ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਸਮੇਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਿੱਘੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ, ਵਹਿਮ-ਭਰਮ, ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮਾਨਤਾਵਾਂ, ਜਨ-ਸਾਧਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਵੱਚ ਛੋਹਿਆ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ । ਇਸ ਵਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਗੀਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਇਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ । ‘ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿੰਡ’ ਇੱਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਨਿਬੜੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਾਚ ਦੇ ਅਜਾਇਬ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ।
