]]> ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਲਿਖਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਲਿਖਤ ਬੀੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਕਲਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ । ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ-ਵਸਤੂ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਰਹਿਤ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਨ ਉਪਰ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਹੈ । ਬਹੁਤੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵੀ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਭ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ । ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਦਮ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ‘ਬਚਨ ਸਾਈਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ’ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਸੰਤ-ਬਚਨਾਵਲੀ ਅਠਾਰ੍ਹਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਦ-ਰਚਨਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਰ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ :
